John Franklin "Hambone” Hamilton age 40, of Harrison passed away surrounded by family on Friday, September 30, 2022 at his home under the care of his wife, family and friends.

                John was born on July 4, 1982, in Edmore, Michigan the son of Robin and Nola (Moughler) Hamilton. John married Sarah Browne on August 15, 2020 (10 years in the making) in a private ceremony at Little Long Lake in Harrison. In February 2000 while in High School John proudly signed up for the Marines after many talks with one of his greatest mentors, MSGT Carlstrom. He was a proud Marine that served his country during "Operation Iraqi Freedom” with B Company 1st Battalion 24th Marines. The bonds the Marines formed clearly have never been broken as they were right there by his side until the end. John surrounded himself with some amazing people who comforted him throughout his battle with his illness. Without any hesitation, he would be right there if anyone needed help. John was a member of VFW Post 1075 in Harrison. In his past time, he enjoyed spending time with his family at home and his family at the Drag Strip along with the No Tread Racing Team. John and Sarah enjoyed going on trips, going to concerts and just hanging out together. He loved watching and coaching his boys over the years and was very proud of them and all their accomplishments. He also enjoyed spending time golfing with friends, hunting and fishing with his family. Hambone was up for just about anything.

                John was an entrepreneur for the last 14 years and was not scared to take any risks. Over the last five years, John spent time volunteering as an associate for the F.E.W. "Foundation for Exceptional Warriors” he truly enjoyed helping veterans and while doing so, he was awarded the Silver President’s Volunteer Service Award.

                John is survived by his wife, Sarah Hamilton; children, Jayven and Talan Hamilton; mother, Nola Hamilton; sister, Leslie Hamilton of Harrison; brothers, Gary Shimmell and Luke (Selena) Hamilton; mother and father-in-law; Russ and Terri Browne; two-brothers in-law, Daniel Bills and Bill Browne, nieces and nephews, Colton, Bailey, Brenden, Jaynie, Audrey, Daniel, and Bryan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. John was preceded in death by his father, Robin Hamilton; sister, Christina Bills; grandparents, Bob and Faith Hamilton and Floyd and Alberta Moughler.
