Aaron Lee Bishop, a beloved resident of Laingsburg, Michigan and later Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away on January 7, 2023.
Aaron was born March 19, 1949 in Owosso, Michigan, the largest city in Shiawassee County, to Herbert and Pauline (Perkins) Bishop.
He went on to marry Georgette Ann (Monroe) on October 18, 1969, in Laingsburg, MI.
Aaron found himself to be the member of many clubs in his lifetime. He was involved with The American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, Freemasons, and assisted as a local volunteer fireman in the state of Michigan.
He was a loyal servant of his country, serving in the Navy from 1967 to 1972. While serving he earned numerous honors including, but not limited to National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Navy Unit Commendation.
Aaron worked for the Board of Water and Light for 25 years in Lansing, Michigan. He also worked for Ionia Correctional Facility providing facility maintenance. Aaron ultimately retired from BioPortUSA after working there for 15 years.
Aaron enjoyed hunting with his friend Evert, taking trips to the casino, travelling, spending time with his family, and fishing.
Aaron is survived by his daughters, Melissa Smith, Heather Adams, Erin Bisby; his grandchildren, Jason, Paul, DeJuan, Halla Irene, Kimberlee, Monroe, Olivia, Raylin; and one great-grandchild, Genevieve.
Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert L. Bishop and Pauline F. (Perkins) Bishop; his wife, Georgette Ann (Monroe) Bishop (July 20, 2017); and his brother, Gary Carl Bishop (June 9, 2015).
A graveside inurnment service will be taking place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Reed Cemetery, 6770 Alward Rd., Laingsburg, Michigan 48848, with a luncheon to follow at the VFW Hall in Laingsburg, MI.
