David Leonard Johnson, age 90, of Harrison passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, under the care of Heartland Hospice.

David was born on September 4, 1935, in Williamston, Michigan. Son of Alexander E. and Tressa V. (Shepler) Johnson. David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. serving as a First Sergeant. Retiring from the Marine Corps. in 1969. He was a lifelong member and very active with the VFW Post 1075 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. David married the love of his life, Norma L. Thomas on April 10, 1959, in San Diego, CA. David and Norma attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Harrison. David was also a member of the NRA and had achieved several shooting awards. He enjoyed being a hard worker and volunteering at the VFW Poppy Drive.

David is survived by his wife of 67 years, Norma Johnson; children, Victoria Bradley, Lisa Thorstad, Dana (Steve) Kerr, and Laura (Duane) Hoover; eight grandchildren, Lindsey, Shaun, Amanda, Devin, Paul, Jebidiah, Thomas, and Randell; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Tamara, Dalila, Victoria, Kasey, Bridgit, Athena, Agnes, Simon, and Amelia; brothers, Kenneth Johnson and Roy Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca; parents; and sister, Ruth Johnson, granddaughter Susan and great-grandson Julian
