On Sunday December 11, 2022 the Harrison VFW Post hosted a children’s Christmas Craft event. 

The local children had the opportunity to meet with Santa Claus, share in a lunch & refreshments. They were then assisted by VFW Post members along with their parents and family members in painting Christmas ornaments and signing Christmas cards for deployed members of our Armed Services. They were also able to paint additional ornaments to take home and hang on their family Christmas tree. 

At the close of the craft event, some of the participants had the opportunity to meet with Santa Claus for photographs in front of the Post’s M-60A3 tank. 

The Christmas Ornaments and cards will be mailed to some of our Michigan Army National Guard soldiers who are currently deployed throughout the Middle East in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. 

It was great to see the participation of our local youth and their willingness to support this effort of Christmas Cheer for our deployed Soldiers.
